One Dress, 3 ways: Summer Rainy Day Edition!

Hello my KMD Lovelies!

Gosh, has it been a long time since my last post on here (over two months- wow)!  I must say, I’m a little out of practice but we can do this!  The summer has just flown by for me!  Between my summer grad school classes and personal summer travel, I just don’t know where the time went!  Since, school is always a priority for me, I had to cut down my blogging for the time being.  Now that summer classes have ended, I’m back!  As always though, I try to keep my Instagram active so if you don’t see any updates here, check my Instagram to see what I’m up to.  Alright I think that’s enough blabbing on my part, let’s get to this blog post!

It’s been a colder summer than usual where I’m located.  On top of that, we’ve had a more wet summer meaning, there has been tons of more rain here.  I got tired of dressing like a bum all weekend/week (depending on the rainy days) so, I started to dress a little cuter on the rainy days.  People In my day-to-day life took notice and that’s why bought the inspiration for this blog post!  I’ve taken one dress and showed you how you can style it in three different ways for a rainy summer day.

I hope you all like the tips and that it gives you inspiration to spice up your wardrobe too!

Look #1:  Bare it all!

With any outfit, especially a dress or top with a skirt/jeans, you should just wear it on its own!  This classic LBD is great with a pair of heels.  Also, I’ve been loving chunky block heels lately and so have my feet!  If you want to cover your feet in the rain, you can always opt for a cute pair of booties to go with your outfit.

Look #2:  Add a cardigan

Since rainy days tend to be a bit cooler, you can always add a cardigan to your outfit.  I went for a plum purple cardigan for my LBD to add some color to my outfit.  I loved how it was still a dark color so it blended better with the dark tones of my outfit.

Look #3:  Layer it with a sweater

I always love to pair sweaters on top of dresses.  It makes it look like a completely different outfit without having to buy a new outfit.  In this option, I used my favorite comfy red sweater which is light yet warm so perfect for the cold breeze of a rainy day!

  1. All of these outfits are fabulous! I love pairing my dresses with cardigans – but I have yet to layer with a sweater. I’m going to have to try that! It looks super cute!
