Summer Maxi Dresses

Hello my KMD lovelies!,

Unlike my previous post, where I talked about printed shorts, I’ll be talking about dresses this time- more specifically, Maxi Dresses!  Maxi dresses are my favorite type of dress to wear for the summer.  They’re nice and flowly and cover most of your body – perfect for us who want to avoid bug bites from exposed skin or others who prefer more modest summer attire.  I’ve listed my favorite type of maxi dresses below so enjoy!

Color Block Maxi

This is a fun type of maxi.  If you love color, then you’ll love this type of maxi.  I always opt for the color block scheme that’s closer in colors (for some reason).  The one below is one of my favorites.  I just love that green and bold blue combo.  I also paired it with a pair of gladiators.

Floral Maxi

I know you’ve seen me showcase this type of maxi dress before in one of my previous posts.  However, I wanted to talk more about this dress in this post as well.  I love a nice floral maxi because you can’t go wrong with floral in the summer.  Since maxi dresses are long, I don’t like to wear a maxi with just one overpowering print.  So, I like ones that have a different top color then the bottom.  It looks more like a top and skirt even though it’s a maxi.  Hope you enjoy!

Solid colored

In any classic form, just one solid colored maxi is great too.  Any color works, the bolder the better.  I chose a black one because just like a “Little Black dress”, a “Long black maxi” should also be a closet staple, don’t you think?

  2. You look so comfortable and put together in your dresses! I used to wear maxi skirts a few years ago but haven’t found any maxi skirts that I wouldn’t trip over in as I’m short 😉

    1. Thanks for the sweet compliments, Alaine! Sadly, I have the opposite problem. I’m 5’7″ and struggle to find maxi skirts that are full length (and not just hit my ankles). So crazy to hear both of our struggles!
