My Yearly Recap: 2020

The year 2020 is finally over and boy are we excited about it!  It’s been a crazy year but I’m happy that it’s finally 2021.  Even if we’re still in this pandemic, the vaccine has been out and there is hope for a cure.

Just like I have done for the previous years’ of 2018 and 2019, I’ll be doing my Yearly Recap of 2020 for my blog.  However, this year’s will be a little different than the previous years’ recaps.  Instead of a detailed recap of all that happened during the month, I’ll be presenting both pro’s & con’s that have happened during that month.  Without further ado, enjoy my Yearly Recap of 2020!

January

  • Pros
    • Posted my first batched content for Instagram.
  • Cons
    • Still wasn’t used to posting consistently on the blog since my first post of 2020 was in the end of January.

February

March

  • Pros
  • Cons:
    • Official announcement of the Covid-19 Pandemic so content planning became a bit more challenging

April

  • Pros
    • Put together a “Stay home for St. Jude” initiative post in collaboration with 30 local Memphis, TN bloggers & St. Jude.
    • Posted my first Covid-19 Tips blog post which received tons of love.
  • Cons:
    • Had to continue to use previous content from February & March due not being able to shoot content because of the local ‘Stay-at-Home’ initiative.
    • Needed to get more creative & fun with my content for my followers since that’s what they wanted to see instead of more Covid-19 content.

May

  • Pros
    • Got creative with my fashion blog posts by posting a “Floral outfits” post
      • This was new to me since I usually posted a “3 ways to wear ____” or “How to wear ____” type of posts.
  • Cons:
    • I was planning tons of new and fun content, so I needed to make sure my creativity was not burned out

June

July

  • Pros
    • Got another brand collaboration:  Mapiful
  • Cons:
    • Blog views stayed the same as Junes so needed to come up with more creative content

August

Shooting Fall Content in 100+ degree weather

September

  • Pros
  • Cons:
    • Got a puppy!:
      • While this is more of a pro then a con in my personal life. However, I considered this being a con for my blog.
      • I had to dedicate lots of time to the little furry baby and less time to the blog.

October

Celebrating the BIG 3-0

November

December

  • Pros
  • Cons:
    • Was blessed with tons of collabs but had to figure out a way to spread them out and not bore my audience
    • For this first time ever, the Hubbie was not available to shoot my content

And that’s a wrap for my Yearly Recap of 2020, for my blog.  Overall, I think it was quite a successful year for me.  Since I had graduated with my Masters in December 2019, I was able to dedicate more time to my blog in 2020.  Despite the challenging times that 2020 has bought on to all of us, I think I did a pretty good job.

I’m hoping that I’m even more successful in 2021.  I have some blog goals set for myself, so I hope that I’m able to accomplish them before the year end.  Do you like to set yourself yearly blogging goals?  Let me know in the comments below.  I would love to learn more about your blogging goals!

Thank you for tagging along for the past two and half years of my blog. Enjoy the photo dump of some of my favorite photoshoots of 2020.

Much love,

P.S: Notice my new signature logo above? ^ 🙂 Hoping I can bring some more fun changes to the blog as such.
