A few months ago, I asked on my Instagram, what types of blogging tips you guys would like to know and learn more about. I got some great suggestions and one of them was, how often you should write a blog post (suggested by Dibya of ChoudhuryDib). I was intrigued by this topic since there is no right or wrong answer but, I still wanted to share my thoughts on the topic. I’ve listed some general tips and advice below so let me know what you think!
Depends
As I mentioned, there is no right or wrong answer to how often you should write a blog post. It all depends on many factors such as, how much time you have, the number of topics would you like to cover, etc. For example, I like to do one blog post a week and each week covers a different topic. I like to cover four topics over the month which are fashion, travel, blogging tips, and lifestyle. This allows me to hit different groups of people interested in different things but also making sure readers come back. Having recurring topics each month keeps it interesting for me and my readers. This might not be the case for everyone but it’s what works for me. So, find your method and apply it to how many posts you would like to do for the week or month.
Views
Back in the older blogging days, it was said that the more blog posts you most, the more views you on your blog. Well, that is not the case anymore. There was a time when I was posting two blog posts a week and it did increase my views for my blogger. However, I noticed that if I market my blog post on all my social media platform (especially Facebook blogger groups), I get just as many views and new views but less of the work. It’s hard to post multiple blog posts a week unless you’re a full-time blogger. But for most of us, this is either done for fun or a side hustle and we don’t have the extra time for multiple blog posts a week.
Experiment
The number of blog posts on your blog can only be determined by you. However, if you’re stuck and unsure then you can do some quick research and experiments. Go ahead and ask your readers in an Instagram poll, how often they would like to a blog post. If your readers want a certain amount, that is manageable for you, then you should deliver. Also, look at your statistics and see which posts perform best based on if you post weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.
Overall, the frequency of your blog posts solely depends on you, your audience, and your post-blog marketing tactics. Once you figure out those factors, you will be able to determine how often you should post on your blog.
Much love,

The organization you have with your blog posts always amazes me. I’m actually in awe of it.
That’s so sweet, Mehaa! Thank you, it means alot! <3
Great information! Thanks so sharing!
Thanks Kelsey!
Great tip! I thought about posting twice a week, but you’re right with promoting on all social media one blog is more flexible.
I realized that the more I do on the back-end with promoting my post, I get more views that way versus stressing myself with two posts a week. Plus you can always promote older posts as well. 🙂 So this way, you can even do one post a month but just promote the blog. I learned that the hard way, lol.
You always have the best blogger advice!❤️
You’re so sweet, Nirvanna! Thank you!
I think you’re right in that people should experiment and see what works for their schedule. It also depends on their blogging goals. If traffic isn’t that important then they can blog less often if they already have an established amount of content (say 100+ posts). At that amount, people should balance writing new posts while optimizing old posts. With everything a good balance 🙂
I think that’s a great idea! I’m at 100+ posts now so I’m actually looking at optimizing my old posts (funny that you mention it). Thanks for the tips! 🙂
wonderful post. thanks for sharing
Thank you!
