Blogging Tips from 4 Successful Bloggers

For a little over a year now, I have been providing some blogging tips on my blog.  It all started when my friends and family asked me tips about how I managed my blog.  Some of my friends and family wanted to start their blog so I was more than happy to give them tips/advice.  That sparked an idea and I started to provide blogging tips on my blog.

After quite a few of these tips, I wasn’t sure how much advice I could give on my own.  I’ve learned many blogging tips from various bloggers.  So, I thought to put together a blog post for you guys, which went over blogging tips from other bloggers.  Check out the tips from my fellow blogger friends below.

Started blogging:  2019

Blog/content niche: Career woman, Lifestyle.

How did you start your journey as a blogger?

I started with understanding what I had to offer unique and finding a gap in the market that needed to be filled. Part of the success has to do with making sure the market you are joining is not already saturated. Like job hunting, start with understanding your strengths and weaknesses, mitigate the weaknesses, prep for your elevator pitch, and have a resume handy (a social media kit).

How Important is blogging/content creation to you?:  It is a second life to me.

What’s one blogging tip you would like to give to a New Blogger?

I would say, remain confident but not overconfident. Find confidence in your content because confidence attracts followers, but don’t be afraid to pivot if it is not working for you. The Desi Career Woman is the result of Pivot #2 and this one stuck.

Fun/Random Fact (s)

  • I grew up on 4 continents.
  • I was a freelance photographer in college.
  • My favorite pastime comes from my old part-time job: Bartending.

How did you start your journey as a blogger?

Kpfusion started as a creative outlet. I was interested in getting into fashion styling, so I wanted a space where I could share my thoughts and ideas around fashion while also using it as a portfolio for styling projects. It has since evolved into a more personal lifestyle platform where I still share fashion tips and tricks, but I also include information around local places to visit, beauty product reviews, personal style, blogging tips and other topics I find interesting.

How Important is blogging/content creation to you?

Very important! Blogging allowed me to step outside of my normally introverted shell, connect with new people daily, and also helped lead me to my current career as a lifestyle photographer.

What’s one blogging tip you would like to give to a New Blogger?

Know your why/do NOT get into this to make money. If you do not know why you are wanting to blog or you are just trying to create content to make money, you will be very disappointed because

1) You have to create a LOT of content for free to build an audience and get brands to notice you

 2) For every blogger that’s making money there are at least 500-1000 that are NOT but they’re going broke trying to gain attention.

Get into blogging because you want to build community or feel that you have a unique perspective that you want to share about a chosen topic. It’s a lot of hard work, but if you get into it for the right reasons, it is incredibly rewarding.

Fun/Random Fact(s):  I played the flute in the band in Junior High!

How did you start your journey as a blogger?

I started as a travel blogger, sharing tips and stories of my weekend trips. But as people started reaching out, requesting more information about the places I went to, recommendations of photography spots, and my style in the photos I posted, I realized the potential to turn my hobby of photography into something more – to tell a story, to share with people unique narratives of places I visit and gems I find. And as I grew on Instagram, I expanded my content into sharing more lifestyle and styling videos- tips and styles that resonate with me and my audience.

How Important is blogging/content creation to you?

I am a Part-time Content Creator, and I’m very passionate about it as much as my full-time job in Tech. Creating content is a great way to express my creative side – showcase my photography skills and tell a story about my life, my experiences, and my opinions. So it’s an integral part of my life – which helps me maintain a balance between the nerdy me and the creative and fun me!

What’s one blogging tip you would like to give to a New Blogger?

In my opinion, the first big step is to START RIGHT AWAY!  Don’t sit on the bench and wait for the right moment or opportunity to know at your door.  Take the plunge, and do it now, there is nothing right or wrong when it comes to blogging – It’s just about sharing your narrative, your perspective, and opinions. You can never go wrong with BEING YOU!

The second important thing is growth – Always try to challenge yourself to try something new, something different and unique, and put it out there for your audience to judge.  With the industry being so saturated, you need to give your audience a reason to follow you.  As much as hopping on a trend helps you to get a few views on your Instagram Reels, try creating something unique (or add a fun twist to the trend) that will catch your audience’s attention and make them want to save and share your content. This will help you get good engagement and help you grow as a blogger.

And the most important thing, when it comes to content creation for Instagram especially with Reels is – BALANCE.  Finding the right balance between what you like to do and what your audience likes/want is important to produce good content.  Use Instagram analytics to find out what works best with your audience and see how that matches with your interests and adapt to making more content related to that.  In my case, I found that my audience loved my travel and funny couple content (also my primary interests), so I switched to more of that and still make a few styling reels to inspire my follower base.

Fun/Random Fact(s)

  • I’m an outdoorsy person – love hiking, jogging, and going for a run.
  • I always maintain a healthy diet with lots of veggie and protein, but just cannot refrain from a tub of ice cream.
  • I am an ocean person – I love the water so much, that I jumped into the Pacific Ocean – snorkeling in Maui without even knowing swimming.

How did you start your journey as a blogger?

I started my journey when I moved to Dallas from Chicago. I wanted something fun and creative to do all the while meeting new people in a new state. Blogging gave me exactly that and I met a ton of amazing girls and learned a lot from each of them.

How Important is blogging/content creation to you?

Very important, however, I am a full-time mom and full-time clinical pharmacist so therefore it does take a back seat sometimes because it is just hard to find the time.  I love the creative outlet it gives me, and I hope to write blog posts more frequently, however, right now the time just does not allow for it.

What’s one blogging tip you would like to give to a New Blogger?

Create a media kit early and find some amazing bloggers in the same niche as you (and

microbloggers if possible) to connect and engage with).

Fun/Random Fact(s)

  • I am a full-time transplant pharmacist at a hospital in Texas.
  • I have a tattoo that I got when I was 18 years old.
  • Before my husband and I got married, we were in a long-distance relationship the entire time.
  • I did IVF and now have a beautiful son that is 13 months old.

And that wraps some blogging tips from my fellow blogger gal pals!  I hope you enjoyed this different post from my usual fashion or travel content.  Did you enjoy the blogging tops provided by other successful bloggers?  Let me know in the comments below.
