It’s that time of the year again, where there are more gatherings than you can remember, and you need to figure out your Holiday Party Outfits. If you’re anything like me, you have both family and friends’ holiday events, and it tends to get a bit crazy. Also, not to mention that you’re constantly trying to figure out what to wear.
As someone who plans my outfits, I always plan my holiday outfits last minute. I’m not sure if it’s because there is so much going on or I just don’t know what to wear. Anyway, I thought to put together this quick and easy reference guide for those who suffer from figuring out what to wear for holiday parties- like myself. I’ve done this post in the last few years (2020, 2019, 2018), but I thought I’d share some new ideas for this year. Check out my outfit ideas below.
Fancy Schmancy
If your family is anything like mine, who loves to dress up for any event, then you’ll want to wear a fancy dress for this type of holiday party. I love to wear holiday colors like gem tones for a holiday gathering that requires you to dress up a bit more. You can have fun with a nice pair of shoes, some fun jewelry, and hair accessories.
With a dressier event, you can’t go wrong with dressing up more than normal. As for me, I love to wear some fun earrings and a nice pair of shoes. Usually, for shoes, I’ll go for an open-toe bootie or something (the weather in Tennessee allows for these types of shoes in December).
Friendmas
One of my favorite gatherings for the holidays’ is with my friends. In the past few years, I have been calling it “Friendsmas” as it has such a nice ring to it. My friend’s group is sometimes casual and sometimes dressier. However, for the holidays’ we usually end up being a bit more casual. The comfier we can be, the better for us!
In this type of event, I’ll opt for a dressy long sweater and leggings. Sometimes, I’ll have cute shoes on or sometimes I’ll wear more casual shoes. I love to wear fun earrings, so I’ll still wear a fun pair of earrings and a bold lip color. Rocking a bold lip color is my go-to for the holiday season.
Ugly Christmas Sweater
No holiday season is complete without an Ugly Christmas Sweater party. I love celebrating the holiday season in an Ugly Christmas sweater. We all know that the Ugly Christmas sweater is more cute than ugly. These sweaters can easily be worn over leggings or jeans and with some casual boots.
Since it is the holiday season, I love to bring out my famous red boots. If you have been reading this blog long enough then you have seen these boots pop up now and then. Also, you can get crazy and bring out those fun Christmas or holiday season earrings! Other accessories that you can include are a Santa hat, elf hat, deer ears, you name it. This outfit is meant to be fun so go crazy!
Bonus: Pajama party
Over the past couple of years, my friends and I have been having more Pajama parties. It’s also since a lot of my friends are now having kids so it’s easier to be in pajamas (especially in the early stages). But this all works for me as I LOVE pajamas (I have 2 drawers full of jammies- no shame). For a holiday-themed Pajama party, I usually wear more holiday pajamas. Either they’re made of fleece or have some winter/Christmas print on them.
Also, you don’t want to forget your winter “at-home” slippers. They go perfectly with those pajama parties. I usually like to keep my jewelry minimal for these parties so studs and small hoops are the key.
I hope you enjoyed my Holiday Party Outfit Ideas. Which one of the outfits are you most excited to wear this year? Let me know in the comments below!
