5 Spring Trends for 2022

For most cultures and religions, this time of the year is the start of celebrating the spring holidays. In addition, the first day of spring is coming up so I wanted to discuss my favorite spring trends for 2022. For the past few years, I have been doing a post about the Spring Trends for that year. This post has been popular on my blog so I like to bring it back every year.

Spring is one of my favorite times of the year. I love when the flowers bloom and the birds start to chirp and especially the fact that the days get longer. In addition, spring and summer dresses are my favorite to wear so I like to revisit the trends every year.

Without further ado, if you would like to know about the popular Spring Trends for 2022, then check out my recommendations below.

Black Maxi Dresses

Maxi dresses have been a popular silhouette for the past few spring and summer seasons. However, for this year, there have been tons of black maxi dresses spotted on the runway. Which most people can assume will be entering closets this spring and summer.
I’m a huge fan of the black maxi dress. I’ve had one for a couple of years now and love to wear it each spring and summer. Black maxi dresses are like the LBD for spring and summer. When picking one out, make sure you pick a style that works with your body type. For instance, for me, I like to get one that accentuates my waist so that it gives me an hourglass figure.

Bright and Bold Colors

Every spring, you’ll see pastels coming back as a trend. However, for this year, we’ll be seeing more bright and bold colors. However, this trend will not be worn as an accent piece such as a bright belt or bright shoes but more of an entire outfit. For example, a bright magenta dress or a bright orange romper will be more of a trend for this Spring.
I love wearing colors so I’m super excited about this trend coming up. I have a lot of bright solid-colored dresses that I love to wear for the spring and summer so I’m more than happy to be a participant in this trend. Remember, the bolder and brighter the better! You can’t go wrong with color for this Spring.

Mini Skirts

For this spring 2022 trend, we’re going back to the ’90s. We’ve been seeing more 90’s fashion make its way back for the past few years so it’s not a mystery to see this trend come back either. Miniskirts were trending in the ’90s and they’re back again! As with any trend from the ’90s, it will be here to stay for a while.
Since this trend is a comeback, you know it’s going to be modernized. So, we’ll be seeing more neutral and classic silhouettes in the mini skirt this time around. That doesn’t mean that it still won’t be a fun trend to explore. I can’t wait to have fun with this trend again!

Oversized Layers

Another 90’s trend that has made a comeback for Spring 2022! Oversized layers were all the rage back in the ’90s and it’s making its’ wave into the early 2020s. Oversized layers can be anything from oversized blazers to oversized cardigans to oversized hoodies. Anything oversized, as an outer layer, will be trending this spring.
I have always been a huge fan of oversized layering. I always size up in cardigans and blazers since I love the feel and comfort of looking oversized. The comfier the better when it comes to this trend. You can’t go wrong with this trend so don’t’ forget to get yourself a nice oversized item to layer with for this spring.

Structured Shorts

If we’re talking about spring trends, then we can’t leave shorts off the list! Spring is all out getting the dresses, skirts, and shorts out of your closet. For Spring 2022, structured shorts will be a huge trend. The shorts must look like trousers for work but shorter in length.
I’ve always been a huge fan of structured shorts and have always had a pair (or two) in my closet. I love a good neutral structured short. But don’t be afraid to experiment with bright and bold structured shorts either. This way, you can cross off two trends from this list, with one clothing piece!

Honorable Mentions

When I was doing my research for this post, I noticed that there were also a lot of other trends for Spring 2022 that I still needed to bring into my closet. So, I thought I would list some honorable mentions, for those who were interested in these trends (and for me to go buy as well):
Fringe: This trend has been going on for the past couple of years and it’s still here to stay! Fringe is super fun. You can wear a fringe dress, skirt or blouse- either one will be super cute!
Crop tops: Crop tops have been trending for the past few years and it’s still going to be a huge trend for Spring 2022. I’m not a huge fan of crop tops but will always wear one on a beach vacation!
Mixing prints: If you have a floral shirt and want to wear it with a striped skirt then go for it! Mixing prints will be more normalized for Spring 2022.
Wide-legged pants: Wide-legged pants have been trending for a while now and they’re still going to be huge for Spring 2022. The wider the better – think of like a 70’s comeback but more modernized.
Boyfriend jeans: The spring trends for 2022 have all been about comfort so that doesn’t stop in the jeans department. Get yourself a comfortable pair of boyfriend jeans to rock this spring!
