3 Personal Growths I’ve Accomplished Since My Last Birthday

Another year and another birthday post coming your way!  Every year, I like to do a blog post around the time of my birthday to celebrate how far I have come in my personal growth since the past year.  Each year, I focus on different types of things such as life lessons or goals, etc.  This year, I focused a lot on my personal growth and how to be a better version of myself for myself and those around me.

Most people assume that personal growth can be done overnight.  However, that is not the case- it is done slowly over time.  Once you have a habit of personal growth then it is more ingrained in you.  For me to remain on my personal growth journey, I liked to have monthly check-ins to see how far I can and those check-ins helped me stay close to my goal.  Anyway, enough of the rambling from me, and check out my personal growth goals that I have accomplished since my last birthday below.

Focus on your Happiness

I believe that the number one thing to being a better you is being a happier you.  Thus, I tried to focus a lot on the things that made me happy.  Firstly, I realized that I loved my blog and I loved to post on here.  However, the consistent weekly posts were getting too much to handle for me and causing more stress than happiness.  Thus, I cut down on the amount of blog posts and Instagram posts since my last birthday.  This made me appreciate Content Creation so much more and allowed me to continue to be creative and not burn out.

Another thing I realized was that I needed to re-evaluate my hobbies.  Since I adjusted my blogging schedule, that allowed me more time to focus on other things that I enjoyed.  I love to walk so I focused on making sure I had a daily step goal of 10K+ steps.  I also realized I loved to read.  Thus, I started to add reading to my daily schedule.  This also allowed me to create and reach a reading goal.  For instance, I’ve read 30 books this year (so far) and my goal was 12 books!  I’m so proud of myself for not only reaching that reading goal but almost tripling it!

Have a Healthy Lifestyle

Having a healthy lifestyle is extremely important to me.  I had this goal on my list last year and I continue to improve on my healthy lifestyle goals.  Every fall/winter, like most people, I fall off my healthy lifestyle goals.  However, I realize that I need to continue to eat better and exercise to be a better me.  Thus, since my last birthday, I made an effort to make sure I continue my healthy lifestyle throughout the fall and winter.  This also helps me enjoy fall and winter fashion more which is a bonus!

I also enjoy taking my dog to the park, which helps me reach my daily 10K+ step goal and helps me maintain my continued healthy lifestyle.  So, I try to walk him to the park at least 3-4 times a week or more.  He also keeps me happy so in turn, I like to keep him happy by making sure he goes on his daily walks- which are his favorite part of the day.

Manage Stress

Most people don’t realize but stress does play an effect on your body.  It’s one of those things that doesn’t show how it’s affecting you as everyone’s’ stress plays differently on your body.  One of things I noticed from my last birthday was that stress was playing a huge toll on my body.  Thus, I had to re-evaluate the things that costed me a lot of stress.  Hence, the reason for changing my blogging schedule and focusing on maintaining a healthy lifestyle

I realized that a lot of my personal growth items go hand in hand.  Thus, if I wanted to be happier and have a healthy lifestyle then I needed to manage the stress in my life.  It was not easy trying to manage my stress levels.  However, I have come a long way since my last birthday and hope to continue to improve to manage my stress levels by my next birthday.

And there you have it; those are my three personal growth goals that I have accomplished since my last birthday!  I hope my personal growth goals, as small or big as they were, were insightful to you and helped you stay motivated on your personal growth journey.
